Als Solist internationaler Orchester sowie als gefragter Kammermusiker ist Daishin Kashimoto regelmäßiger Gast in den großen Konzertsälen weltweit. Sein immenser Erfahrungsschatz, über den er nach über zehn Jahren als erster Konzertmeister der Berliner Philharmoniker verfügt, kommt ihm auch in seiner Solistenrolle zu Gute, die er, mit einem breiten Repertoire von der Klassik bis zur Musik unsere Zeit, ebenso überzeugend ausfüllt.

Daishin Kashimoto gastierte bisher unter anderem beim NHK Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, dem Orchestre National de France, den Symphonieorchestern des Bayerischen, Südwestdeutschen, Hessischen und Westdeutschen Rundfunks, dem Orchestre de la Suisse Romande und den St. Petersburger Philharmonikern unter Dirigenten wie Mariss Jansons, Seiji Ozawa, Lorin Maazel, Yehudi Menuhin, Paavo Järvi, Myung-Whun Chung, Daniel Harding und Philippe Jordan. Auch in Konzerten der Berliner Philharmoniker ist er immer wieder als Solist zu erleben, in der Vergangenheit etwa mit Mozarts Sinfonia concertante beim Grafenegg Festival und beim Lucerne Festival, mit Prokofjews Violinkonzert Nr. 1 unter der Leitung von Sir Simon Rattle oder mit Tschaikowskys Sérénade mélancolique und dem Valse Scherzo, geleitet von Andris Nelsons, auf der Berliner Waldbühne.

Als Kammermusiker trat er unter anderem an der Seite von Martha Argerich, Yuja Wang, Leif Ove Andsnes, Éric Le Sage, Alessio Bax, Emmanuel Pahud, Itamar Golan, Tabea Zimmermann, Yefim Bronfman, Claudio Bohórquez und Konstantin Lifschitz auf. Mit letzterem legte er 2014 eine vielgelobte Aufnahme der Beethoven Violinsonaten vor. Zu seinen CD-Einspielungen gehört auch eine Aufnahme des Brahms Violinkonzertes mit der Staatskapelle Dresden unter Myung Whun Chung für Sony Music.

Früh hatten seine Eltern ihn in Kontakt mit verschiedenen Instrumenten gebracht – der Dreijährige entschied sich für die Geige und erhielt in Tokio seinen ersten Unterricht. Nach einem Umzug in die USA wurde Daishin Kashimoto im Alter von sieben Jahren als jüngster Schüler aller Zeiten am Pre-College der Julliard School aufgenommen; mit elf Jahren wechselte er an die Musikhochschule Lübeck zu Zakhar Bron, ehe er von 1999 bis 2004 an der Musikhochschule Freiburg Schüler von Rainer Kussmaul wurde. Schon als Jugendlicher war er bei großen Wettbewerben erfolgreich und gewann unter anderem 1993 den 1. Preis der Menuhin Junior International Competition, 1994 den Violinwettbewerb Köln sowie 1996 den Fritz Kreisler Wettbewerb Wien und den Long-Thibaud Wettbewerb. Seit 2007 ist Daishin Kashimoto künstlerischer Leiter des Le Pont-Musikfestivals in Ako und Himeji (Japan). Er spielt eine Violine von Andrea Guarneri aus dem Jahr 1674.

Paul Meyer is not only one of the outstanding clarinetists worldwide and performs regularly with the major orchestras in Europe and the USA, in the Far East and Australia, since 1988 he has also worked internationally as a conductor alongside his solo career. He is the founder of the Orchester de Chambre d'Alsace, was assistant to John Crewe at the Northern Junior Philharmonic in England and was appointed Associate Chief Conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra by Myung Whun Chung in 2007, whose international profile he has above all with a French repertoire and works by Roussel, Dukas and Saint-Saëns. Paul Meyer is a co-founder of the orchestra academy there for young artists. From 2009 to 2012, Paul Meyer was chief conductor of the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and has since worked with well-known orchestras such as the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchester Philharmonique de Nice, l'Orchestre National de Bordeaux, the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Danish Symphony Orchestra or the China Philharmonic, his artistic work to date is on more than 50 CDs Documented recordings with leading labels, including DGG, Sony, RCA, EMI and Virgin; for this he was awarded numerous prizes such as Fono-Forum, Diapason d'Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique, Gramophon and Grammy Awards. His recordings as a conductor with the Camerata Padova (piano concerts by Mozart and Haydn with JM Luisada), with the Royal Philharmonique de Liège (works by Darius Milhaud) and the Brussels Philharmonic (works by Corigliano & Carter), with the Staatskapelle Weimar (cello concert by Elgar & Walton) as well as horn concerts from different epochs with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the highly successful CD "Bolero de Meyer" with the Tokyo Kosei Orchestra. His series of Play & Conduct recordings with the Orchester de Chambre de Lausanne has won awards.

In 2012, the French state Paul Meyer awarded the highest cultural award of the "Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" for its musical achievements to date.
In autumn 2018, Paul Meyer was unanimously elected to succeed Johannes Schlaefli as the new chief conductor of the Kurpfälzisches Chamber Orchestra, in whose hands the artistic development of the traditional orchestra will lie from the 2019/2020 season.
